Since I was at my brother's wedding last weekend, and with the weather, Rain had a good portion of last week off. So this week in preparation for the show, we have been going over freestyle and obstacles, and we will be going to two shows just to get him more experience off the farm. Tonight we are going Team Penning again in New Jersey, and on Saturday we are going to the Farmers Union local Schooling Show.
Also this week, I have been getting as much video as possible that I can compile to bring with us to the show next week so anyone who comes by to see Rain can see all of the progress he has made. I want to take this time to thank everyone who has been a part of putting this competition together, the rescues who provided horses, and to all of my own local connections who have supported me this summer. So thank you to A Home For Every Horse, Akindale Thoroughbred Rescue, and the Pennsylvania National Horse Show. And a big shout out to Joan Michini of Belfry Farm for coming out to take video with me and being my trail buddy on many occasions, to Danielle Montgomery of Turning for Home (and all Turning for Home connections who have shown me support this summer) for all of her support and help in sharing posts and advice on how to go about finding this guy the best home after next week, and lastly thanks to everyone who has kept up with and followed mine and Rain's progress this summer. They say it takes a village to raise a child, and in this case the village helped me to publicize an amazing cause and get this amazing horse so many fans. I think he is a great ambassador for OTTBs and their versatility, and I cannot wait to show him off next week to anyone who will take the time to watch.
See you next Tuesday! And if you cannot make it to the show, be sure to check out the live stream of the show on EQ Sports Network!
